Ana Appel

Founder and Lead Consultant

About

Ana Appel has been working professionally in education since she graduated from college. She has an undergraduate degree from Sarah Lawrence College where she concentrated on Psychology. She has a master’s degree from Bank Street College where she studied early childhood general and special education. She completed theses in children’s literature for both degrees and deeply studied how students learn, curriculum, child development, and special education.

After many wonderful years teaching general and special education, she took on academic coaching. She coached a team of kindergarten teachers to academic success while simultaneously launching a literacy program across multiple schools. Ana then spent four years writing and implementing K-8 science curriculum across nine schools.

Ana loves children’s literature, inquiry based science, child development, and supporting teacher development. She sits on the Board of Directors for the Science Teachers Association of New York State (STANYS). Ana is excited to spread her knowledge and skills while working with many schools across the state of New York and the rest of the country.
